We offer farm activites first thing in the morning, and again in the late afternoon. The rest of the day you're free to explore the local area and enjoy time on the farm as a family. Here's some of the things you might like to get up to...

Nabiac
The lovely little town of Nabiac is just 2 minutes away and has a 24 hour service station, two general stores (approx 7am-5pm 7 days), a bakery, two butchers, hardware store, chemist, ATM, pub, bottle-shop, hairdressers and other regional services like farm supplies etc. There's a great park, a showground, tennis courts and a skateboard ramp, plus two cafes. If you're bringing your boat, there's also a boat ramp.

Wallamba Cafe
Open Monday to Saturday for lunch and snacks, you can head out for lunch at the Wallamba Cafe. Just a few minutes down the road, Robyn & Brian's restaurant will welcome you. Great food for the grownups and a kids menu too that's sure to please.

Nabiac Hotel
Open seven nights a week from 6.00pm, the newly refurbished Nabiac Hotel has a great bistro that is very kids friendly. With everything from Ceaser salad through to oysters or bangers and mash, there is something to please everybody. Kids menu is sure to please as every meal includes a soft drink/juice and ice cream!

Villa d'Esta Winery
10km further along Wallanbah Rd you'll discover our local vineyard Villa d'Esta. Run by a family in the Hungarian tradition, it's a small vineyard that produces some fantastic preservative-free wines, after dinner drinks, jams, pickles and home-made treats. It's definitely well worth a visit and is open 9am-5pm, seven days. Say hi to Zoli, Maria and Attila for us! And a tip...if you like reds...try the Chambourcin! Ph: 6550 2236

Great Lakes Winery
Travel south along the freeway for 10 minutes and just past Coolongolook watch out for the signs leading to Great Lakes Winery at Wootton... follow those signs and discover this popular family friendly winery nestled in the Great Lakes hinterland. Great Lakes Winery is a boutique family run winery offering delicious wines in a tranquil rural environment. This working property also produces Angus beef cattle through the application of sustainable farming practices protecting our waterways and preserving the environment. You are welcome to sample the wines in the cellar door then settle down in the “back paddock” with a tasty cheese plate – while the kids enjoy the freedom of the wonderful environment. At the Farmers Markets you can pick up fresh local produce, handmade soaps, gourmet cheeses and a variety of other goods. Stock up your pantry and gift cupboard with one quick shop!

Fishing with Pete
If you or the kids would like to give fishing a try, Castaway Charters can get you started - even tournament fishermen love this experience! Head out with local fisherman and qualified coxswain Pete on his 5 metre Quintrex Hornet Trophy and go estuary lure casting on the Great Lakes and surrounding rivers. You'll put in at the Nabiac boat ramp and land fish such as bream, flathead, whiting, jewfish and bass. Castaway Charters strongly encourage catch, photograph and release, however they're happy to prepare one or two fish for consumption so you can cook it when you get back to Country Roads. Things To Do 20 minutes away

Tuncurry
Partial to dolphins? You just have to visit the Tuncurry Rock Pool where you might just see the resident harbour dolphins on the outside of the fishing net. It's just great to see them right there, and there's a nice park for the kids here too. Tuncurry is also home to a twin cinema where you can catch the latest releases.

Forster
Boat hire, beaches, restaurants, ten pin bowling, shopping, fun parks, clubs and plenty more await you at the towns of Forster-Tuncurry.

Ellenborough Falls
1 hour north west of Taree, these falls are the highest in NSW!

Gloucester
Not to be missed, this is a great 40 minute drive through some awesome countryside. Just head out our driveway and turn left and follow the signs to Gloucester. You'll travel via the Buckett's Way and see some stunning views, before arriving in Gloucester to explore this gorgeous town complete with all its mosaics, and great cafes.

Wingham
Spend your nights with us and your days taking cookery courses at the acclaimed “Duck Under the Table” in Wingham. They even have school holiday programs for kids. It's just a 30 minute drive and you can do courses ranging from cheese-making to knife-sharpening, and there's celebrity guest chefs aplenty.
